she teaches me (she is teaching me) = me enseña
(command, informal) teach me = enséñame
actualmente = nowadays
actually = en realidad

ahh, gracias, yes the reflexives are what i seem to mostly be stuggling with, we haven't reviewed them this year so i haven't really had to use them since before the summer. One thing i don't really remember is ever putting an accent on verbs that usually don't have them like when you said enséñame. (enseñar). but i can move this part to the practice section since this seems to just be mainly for introduction

Rusty November 23, 2010 04:39 PM

What you called reflexives are actually an indirect object pronoun and a verb. The two are combined in the infinitive and imperative. They are separated in the other moods.

The reason for the accent on the second 'e' in enséñame is to maintain the proper stress. When enseña is said by itself, the stress naturally falls on the second-to-last syllable. When the pronoun is suffixed, however, the stressed syllable isn't supposed to change, so we have to accent the stressed syllable. If we didn't, the stress would go on the second-to-last syllable according to the rules of Spanish spelling.

Don't worry about asking questions about what was corrected above. If you have other questions, you can place them in the appropriate forums.
