Ir a la deriva

ROBINDESBOIS November 26, 2010 02:14 PM

Ir a la deriva

ir a la deriva, sin rumbo, como dos naufragos a la deriva, se usa cuando la gente no tiene rumbo, no sabe por donde ir.
English?

to drift (aimlessly)
to drift to and fro
to be adrift
to be without a rudder
to be without direction

to go|drift|sail|head any which way
to be tossed about (any which way) (aimlessly)

Also, you could say something like
la sociedad va a la deriva = society has lost its sense of direction

la gente no tiene rumbo, no sabe por donde ir = people goes without direction, they don't know where to go

people has lost their sense of direction...
people drift aimlessly.
