Ah! talk to me about this sentence.
I want to say The Panama Canal connects the atlantic and pacific ocean. Am I writing this correctly? Is it awkward? Could I put "se" before "une"?
El Canal de Panamá une los océanos atlánticos y pacíficos. |
El Canal de Panamá une los océanos Atlántico y Pacífico.
"Atlantic and pacific ocean" as if "atlantic" and "pacific" were adjectives ? It's right using "los océanos" because they're two of them ("Atlántico y Pacífico"), but in Spanish we hardly can justify a plural in a name. For instance, you say in English "The Simpsons" and in Spanish "Los Simpson", because the article in Spanish is enough to tell they're many (even "Las <hermanas> Simpson"). Also is advisable to say "El Canal de Panamá conecta los océanos Atlántico y Pacífico" or "...enlaza los océanos ...". |
