Hello, I'm knew here and have a question that I did not find in the dictionary or idiom.

How do I say "I gave" in Spanish?... such as I gave her a rose.

"Le daba (yo) una rosa (a ella)." "I used to give her a rose".

The "a ella" is optional if the listener already know the identity of the indirect object pronoun "le".

You're answer is already given above. You won't find conjugated verbs in a dictionary, usually. For that, you'll need to deal with verb conjugators, and you'll need to know what person, what mood, and what tense you're talking about.

'I gave' is the first-person, singular form of the preterite tense in the indicative mood.
Contrast this with 'I give'. Here, the only difference is that the verb is now conjugated in the present tense (doy is used instead of di). If the person changes from first to second person, another conjugation is needed in both of the tenses mentioned so far (das and diste, respectively).
You can get all the conjugations you need by entering the infinitive (dar, in this case) in the box found in the upper left-hand part of this page. In the drop-down menu to its right, select 'Conjugations'. You'll find the four different conjugations I just mentioned, and many others. These conjugations represent the various combinations of person, mood, and tense.
