To say "Spanish lesson" in Spanish, would I say "lección de espanol," "lección espanol", or none of the above?

I have three questions:

1. When is the pronoun "yo" used with a verb. For example, doesn't the word "tengo" have the same meaning as the phrase "yo tengo?"
