 Does somebody know if both terms refer to the same thing? I've seen it written in both ways.  Edit: Now I see that "Square Deal" is related to Theodor, while "New Deal" is related to Franklin. What a casuality!

No they are used differently. The New Deal was Franklin Roosevelt's plan
for the USA in the years of the Great Depression. A square deal is as Perkles said "un acuerdo justo"o una buena compra. Example: I just bought a new car. I think I got a square deal. It only cost me ... A new deal as opposed to The New Deal, can mean una nueva oferta.

But Theodore Roosevelt also promised a "Square Deal". Both "Roosevelt" and "Deal" confused me.
