Si + Subjunctive

En el presente / futuro, se usa el subjuntivo después de ‘cuando’, pero nunca después de ‘si’ ¿correcto?

Cuando esté en clase el mes que viene, voy a estudiar mucho.
Cuando no esté en clase el mes que viene, voy a pasar tiempo en la playa.

Si estoy en clase el mes que viene, voy a estudiar mucho.
Si no estoy en clase el mes que viene, voy a pasar tiempo en la playa.

A veces se usa si + subjuntivo. Por ejemplo, CORDE include 89 veces la colocación si sea, en frases como

No sé si sea un pseudónimo; pero pseudónimo o no ese tal Pío Baroja tiene mucho talento.

The example given is subjunctive because of the negated thought in the main clause.

The present subjunctive is not used in a si clause when the main verb is in the present or future tense (unless the main clause gives reason to take that course).

Wrong tense of the subjunctive.

Use "estuviera"

Hi Chileno, many thanks for your reply. I don't think I can use an Imperfect Subjunctive here:

"Si no esté en clase el mes que viene, pasaré tiempo en la playa.

If I'm not in class next month (maybe the teacher won't show up for some of the classes), then I will spend time on the beach.

You are right that imperfect subjunctive is not the right conjugation here. With conditional sentences that talk about a certain situation happening in the present so another can be completed in the future, you need to use the present indicative.

- Si me gano la lotería, viajaré por todo el mundo.
- Si no te molesta, voy a ver la televisión.
- Si no estoy en clase...

I though you wanted to say:

If I weren't in class I would be at the beach.
