Here, we call this "adivinanza" instead of "broma"

Another ones:

I agree. In Mexico a "chiste" is a joke that is told. A "broma" is something that's told to tease someone or a practical joke.

Absolutely you can call a joke chiste really that is the correct translation in Spanish.
