The 'll' is pronounced different ways, depending on the region.
As far as I know, it's never pronounced 's' or 'z'.

In most places, it is pronounced like the 'y' in 'yellow'. In other words, the 'll' and the Spanish 'y' are pronounced alike when the 'y' is used as a consonant.

It's pronounced like the 'z' in 'azure' (which is the same as the 'zh' in 'Zha Zha Gabor') in many parts of South America. You may also hear it pronounced like the 'sh' in 'shell' (in Buenos Aires).

In parts of Spain you'll hear it pronounced like the 'll' in million.

"Y" and "ll" can be pronounced differently depending on regional accents, but you can go to this thread; in message #32, you will hear how a Mexican pronounces them, but there are more examples.
