HI

Hello everyone.

I'm going back to college (at 40 years old) and I'm taking a Spanish class. I'm very excited about it. This forum looks like a great place to learn - everyone seems so helpful. Hopefully, I'll spend lots of time here.

I know bits and pieces of Spanish already but have trouble putting sentences together. That's what I hope to learn in class (and here).

¡Hola, geeper, y bienvenido!

I know what you mean, it's usually easier to read, or at least understand small parts of sentences, but it's much harder to write a sentence yourself.

You stole my line, Elaina.
Geeper, I love your avatar, too. It's cute.
Do read a lot as Crotalito told you, but start writing as soon as possible even if you think your sentences are too simple or full of mistakes. We learn by making mistakes.

Oh I wasn't referring to the "baby" part, I was wondering about "brace". If what you meant was "refuerzo" then I would have used reinforcement or support. I don't think brace is appropriate in this context.

I was going to ask too, but thanks to your exchange with Elaina I understand now. What you meant was something like: Thanks for the back up, baby.
Am I right?
