I do not eat them, but it was common in my family. Same with snails.
Now is forbidden (frogs, not snails), due to animal protection.
greetings

Thanks Sosia, You're right. It's more common to say espinas or esqueleto, although I'm sure I've heard people say huesos in Mexico at least.

Sosia,
I have never tried the frog thingies, but I remember I used to love snails when I was little: both cooked and alive, in fact. I once had a pet snail for a day and felt devastated when it died at night... probably because I tenderly kept him in a closed matchbox ( a big one, though).
I think I've 'outgrown' them now.I find them kind of yukky.... probably because my kids hate them.

What would you say to little fried birds, then?
When I was little they were served as tapas in bars ,but fortunately this practice was forbidden... I don't remember what kind of bird it was, but at that tender age I used to associate them in my mind to the little sparrows I saw around the neighbourhood. Thank God my parents never ate them...at least not in front of me.

Totally serious. It's just a distant memory but it still gives me goosebumps. I'd rather not think about it.
Take care.
