Ok, you can use these words in a lot sentences for example, if you have to say, Me ido por mucho tiempo, I gone for long time, and the other word is used in this example that I will give you now, Siempre pienso que a lo largo del tiempo en la vida ha pasado cosas muy bonitas, I always think along the time in the lives has happened things very beautiful.

I hope my examples to be of helpful for you.

long is largo and along is like I went along with you. Get along with him, not fight with him. Do you understand ? Also, look at Crotalito's examples.

yes long is largo (and big is grande, got mixed up here). My hair is long. ummm Mi pelo es largo. ??
along has nothing to do with long, but its translation is a la largo de, I believe

I don't understand this ones, because you never putted the translate in Spanish, for that reason, I told you, I need that you translate the verbs in Spanish, so I will can understand that better, I know you don't know much Spanish but, you can try to translate them.

I reddened the sentences in red, those phrases I never understand, because I need first the translate.

Bueno creo que la palabra "along" no se puede traducir literalmente en algunas ocasiones pero es importante saber el significado de la palabra cuando se usa en una frase u oración. Por ejemplo...

*all along - You knew the answer to the question all along. En este caso, la frase se traduce a: Siempre sabías la respuesta a la pregunta. Es como decir.....¿Para qué preguntas si ya sabes la respuesta?

*come-along - I am going to the store, want to come along? - Voy a la tienda, ¿quieres venir? come along = acompañar a alguien a algún sitio.

*get along - I don't get along well with my neighbor. No me la llevo bien con el vecino. get along = llevártela bien

*go along - I don't agree with you but I'll go along with whatever you say. No estoy de acuerdo contigo pero te seguiré la corriente.

*run along - Usually said to a child. Here is your allowance, now run along. Aquí está tu domingo, ahora vete a jugar.

*sing-along - I love to listen to my favorite songs in the radio so I can sing along. Me encanta escuchar mi canciones favoritas en la radio y cantar. Sing-along = acompañar a alguien a cantar.

*string along - Me parece que significa - seguir una historia o secuencia. No se me ocurre ningún ejemplo por ahora.

*tag along -
I like to tag along with my brother when he goes to the store. Me gusta ir a la tienda con mi hermano cuando va a la tienda. Tag along = pegártele a alguien algun sitio.

Creo que otros te pueden dar unos ejemplos mejores pero creo que por el momento esto te puede ayudar a entender la palabra mejor.

My
