One day, a young man went downtown and proclaimed he had the most beautiful heart in the whole region.

A large crowd gathered around him and admired and confirmed that his heart was perfect, for they could see neither spots nor scratches on it.

Yes, they all agreed that it was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen.

is this right?

What you highlighted in red is correct. The rest of the narrative is correct, although I would opt for a different word here and there. For spots, I would use manchas, for example.

Stains, blemishes or flaws may be better choices.

.....the young man felt great pride.... he felt assured that he possessed the most beautiful heart in the entire place.
