Estaba cantado

any context to fill in the blanks? cantar can have a lot of translations
in english.

I think it is " it was a foregone conclusion that the olimpic games were going for RIO"

Sí, aunque tengo dos correcciones: Olympic and "going to".

Crotalito, "singed" es de "singe", chamuscar. "Sing" es irregular, y en el pasado es "sang" (participio pasado "sung").
