Arrow Ejercicio 23-14

Please check my sentences. The exercise consists of questions asked in Spanish, requiring personal answers. The section of the book focuses on the preposition "por". My responses in bold font.

I feel like I didn't understand some of the questions well enough to give acceptable answers. Especially #1 and #4 ("por dónde"?), and #6. Also, I tried to write my answers including "por", which was difficult for some of them (especially #7).

Any suggestions you could give me would be greatly accepted!!

Por no puedo hablar español, lo estudio. (Wrong structure, but the question was rather confusing, since the student won't assume at first that there has to be a contraction of words: "Porque" introduces a reason, and as the reason is the subject, it's better that it starts the sentence: "Estudio español porque no puedo hablarlo (aún)".)

8) ¿Por dónde sales de tu casa?
Salgo de mi casa por la iglesia. (The question asks you about the places you cross to leave your home. Your answer suggests that you have to cross the church to get out of your house --as if it were inside your house--... I think you may try to make up a new answer.)
Nice job!

You mean that #1-6 are acceptable? Interesting! Thanks, Malila! Did you find question #6 to be a bit strange?

Could #8 be re-written as follows?
8) ¿Por dónde sales de tu casa?
Salgo por la puerta de mi casa.

Number 8 is correct.

Number 6 is not strange, a little absurd maybe, since the answer may be kind of predictable, but it's a standard way of asking about your feelings for someone.

7.Estudio español porque me gusta mucho. Por trabajo. Para viajar etc...

Hernán, #4) Springfield is a town. #5) The book gave model sentences like this: "Por no jugar bien no vas a ganar el partido." I was trying to match that. #6) My house only has one door.

Even I knew that - it's where the Simpsons live.

Right. That's why I asked about being a city. Now, in English: if I live in Las Vegas, and I go to the supermarket, I necessarily have to go through Las Vegas, won't I?

I think a better answer would be, that for me to go to a certain place within the city I have to go by a known landmark of some sort, which it is in the same city. That was all.
