The are interchangeable, but Rusty is right. Seguir is much more common than continuar.

i didn't use seguir although i know i could have but i did not use it because seguir has a tendency to also mean "still" while, if i am not mistaken, continuar more strongly means "keep" and in my sentence i definitely wanted to say "i KEEP thinking...." and not "i STILL think....."

have both the same meaning. The first it's more used, but both are OK.
I don't appreciate (as spaniard) your different use in KEEP and STILL
If you want a literal "STILL" you must say
"Todavía pienso que te pareces a Jordin Sparks"
but again, it has no diferent meaning as "sigo" or "continuo"
