Is there any difference between toparse and tropezarse?

When talking about a person both can be used with no difference.

When talking about an object then most likely you end up on the floor if you tropiezas. Whereas you just veer direction when you topas with something.

An important difference is that tropezar(se) is not reflexive.
Ayer me topé con mi enemigo número uno
ayer tropezé con mi enemigo .........
