Auto mechanics in Spanish

How do I tell my auto mechanic that I want to 'blueprint' the engine (motor) of my car and to restore my car to mint condition?

I've heard the word 'blueprint' used by mechanics who want to overhaul an engine and make it better than in new condition.

One part of this process is to machine balance the crankshaft and flywheel.

Thank You.

Welcome, JMichael.

I think your best bet would be to talk with the mechanics at length and explain exactly what you want to do-- have the engine completely disassmbled, restored to better than factory condition and put back together. And you'd probably need to specify things like machine balancing the crankshaft and flywheel. If you want help with specific engine-related vocab, we can probably help.

BTW, whereabouts in CR are you? I stayed in a small town called Grecia, north of San José several years ago.

I live at Atenas

Monday Morning 10 December 2007

Thanks for the replies and I live at Los Altos Naranjo de Atenas (Lo Mejor Clima En El Mundo is what the locals call it ...).

Atenas is near Grecia.

I'm actually closer to Palmares and San Ramon than Atenas Centro.

That brings back memories I remember going over to Naranjo and Sarchi. Have you seen the steel cathedral in Grecia?
