He visto "otorgar testamento" = ¿write a will?

Puedo usarlo así ,

Quien calla otorga

"Silence is golden" conlleva la idea de que es más sabio el que calla que el que pronuncia opiniones mal pensadas. La locución más empleada me parece "silence gives consent".

Bueno, quizás Irma o Robin nos puede decir qué es lo que otorgas cuando callas. Yo lo he interpretado en el sentido de "quien calla otorga el regalo precioso del silencio", un dicho que se podía aplicar cuando alguien te cuenta tonterías y quieres que te deje en paz.

"El que calla otorga" no tiene nada qué ver con "el silencio es oro".

El primer dicho significa que si una persona guarda silencio ante algo que se hace o se dice, tácitamente está de acuerdo con ello, para bien o para mal.

Chico: ¿Te puedo dar un beso?
Chica: (silencio)
Chico: El que calla otorga. (Y la besa)
(En este caso, lo que se "otorga" es el permiso para besarla... Si la chica lo abofetea, porque más bien estaba pensando en cómo decirle que no, ya es otra cosa.)
