Um, yeah ... I have issues with that. It discourages you from enjoying the subject matter and attempting to learn at your own pace, if that pace happens to be faster and/or more in depth than the rest of the class. Rrrrr....

I hate that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first arrived in the country, I signed up for ESL classes. I took my own pace, and the teacher told me, more or less, that her supervisor was wondering why I was going so fast. To slow down a little. I stopped going to classes. Now kids... Don't try this at home! :-) Hernan ![]() |

Jessica - don't forget that I'm also a teacher. I'm sure that there is a reason why. I'm NOT so sure that it's a good reason. Obviously, I don't know your teacher or her reasoning. Maybe she doesn't want you experimenting with words that you've merely looked up in a dictionary and don't know quite how to use yet. I suppose that's understandable. But if you're motivated enough to be learning beyond what she's teaching in the classroom, that should be a GOOD thing. (sigh...) Sorry - you didn't ask us to dis your teacher. So I'll stop there.
Go write your paper. Then write all of those other words to us here in the forums. ![]()

Perhaps it's for not copiyng other sources, with more complex vocabulary.
But I also thing it's never good to restrain new knowledge. Saludos ![]()

The verb cocinó is in the preterite tense. Your sentence is using the present tense in English, so use the present tense in Spanish.
Try another word for food. Think meals. The word you chose describes food that you buy (groceries), not the food you have for a meal. |

taught
(past tense of teach) Look up teach and apply proper conjugation to get taught. English students (students English) Make sure you match gender and number when translating the adjective English. Don't forget to use definite articles before chino and estudiantes. The preposition 'to' is one you've used several times. There's nothing wrong with using ser in the last sentence you wrote. Good job! |
