Tiempo futuro y unos verbos

Tiempo futuro y unos verbos
Hola ¿hay una regla por los verbos que cambian por sustraer un "e" después de estar conjugando en el tiempo futuro? ¿O así es simplemente un caso de memorización?

Haber - Haberé
Caber - Caberé
Poder - Poderé
ect..
Suceder - Sucederé (no se debería sustraer el "e")

No tengo duda que esas palabras son conjugados así porque la pronunciación es mucho más fácil así

Haberé
Habré (rolls off the tongue)

Yes there is a rule. This irregularity occurs if the verb appears in this list:

caber; decir; haber; hacer; poder; poner; querer; saber; salir; tener; valer; venir.

(and verbs derived from these. Note it is not just -er verbs The irregularity also applies to the conditionals of these verbs as well.)

También hay sola doce verbos

Yo creo que es por razones eufónicas, pero no tengo ninguna base técnica para afirmarlo.


No son sólo doce verbos, pero conforme vayas conjugando más, vas a distinguir más fácilmente "las familias" de verbos irregulares.

Maybe this link is useful.

By the way, you can't say "sucederé", because you are able to conjugate it just in the 3rd person:

Sucede en muchas ocasiones.
Nadie sabe qué sucederá.

A little nuance about Irma's note on "suceder":

"Suceder" doesn't always mean to happen. It can mean to come next after someone and take his/her place in an office or a function.
In that case, it's conjugated in any person --"yo sucederé" included.

Fui electo ayer para suceder a Juan como presidente. Yo lo sucederé en su cargo.
