It's a correct phrase, yes. You could also say "Gracias, mi amigo", or simply "Gracias, amigo".

Whenever correct spelling matters, mío bears an acute accent over the letter i.

The latter is a pronoun. The former is a possessive determiner. There is a difference in meaning. The pronoun tends to be used if speaking more poetically or in an endearing way. It will sound quaint to some people.

Yes, indeed, this sounds muy anticuada.
However, if someone were asking which computer was slower, yours or someone else's, it would be fine to use the possessive pronoun in your answer.

¿Cuál computadora es más lenta?
La mía (es más lenta).

Time before I used the translator when I was starting in this ambit, when recently I started, I arrived to use the translator several times, but the people told me a lot times that my post was bad written, for that reason I decided to leave of use the translator and better I study hard all the days for learn new words for my speed the tomisimo's dictionary was useful during long time for me, already I have used less the translators, only I use them when I need to rectify some text or paragraph when I'm not sure of some words.

I hope you can learn more and you can get better each day for yourself.
