Is there any difference in meaning between these two sentences?

Espero visitar la región en mis días libres.
Espero visitar la región cuando no esté trabajando.

2) When I won't be working.

Yes, there is. And just as Julvenzor stressed it, it's the same in English;
if you aren't working, it doesn't necessarily mean you are on holidays.
