Lleva una conducción

Hola a todos,

In a scene in the movie Carne de horca Don Joaquín, who informs el Lucero of the stagecoaches he has to rob, talks to his assistant.

Don Joaquín: La diligencia que sale mañana a las 8 para Granada va sin custodia y lleva una conducción de la Real Hacienda.
Ayudante: ¿Aviso yo?

What I find strange here is the use of the word "conducción." What does it mean?

In one of the previous scene the letter to el Lucero mentions la Hacienda Real, dinero, y una diligencia sin custodia, but doesn't mention "conducción."

http://forums.tomisimo.org/showthread.php?t=29158

"Que esperemos pasado mañana la diligencia de Córdoba que trae dinero de la Real Hacienda escondido en un baúl y sin custodia para que no lo sepa nadie."

So I'm a bit unsure as to what "lleva una conducción" means. Lleva dinero?

The scene in question starts at 1:03:28.

Thank you.

I understand it to be that the coach lacks an armed guard but the coachmen work for the tax collecting office, so they may be armed themselves.

Thank you, aleC. Maybe I misunderstand something, but I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Does your answer explain why "la diligencia va sin custodia" or does it explain what "conducción" means in "lleva una conducción"? Once again, I'm sorry if I misunderstood you or if my original question was unclear.

Both. Conducción is, among several things, who drive a vehicle with wheels. My conjecture is that he is warning (I knew he was the bad guy!) about the coach not having a random coachman but problably two who transport valuables on a daily basis, then prepared for any contingency.

... or maybe such particular conducción points to the coach carrying valuables, then worth of being stopped and searched.

Yes, it was Don Joaquín who was behind all the kidnappings and stagecoach robberies.
