In Mexico, Nochebuena means Christmas Eve and poinsettia. There are a few different words for it in English too, such as the Star of Christmas.

In Argentina that flower is named "Estrella federal" and is typical to see them by Christmas season
Nochebuena is the night between December 24th and 25th We here wait until midnight and cheers and exchange present at tha time (we also throw "cañitas voladoras", "bengalas" and "rompeportones", all of them are fireworks) |

No, Christmas eve is at December 25th, I know that is a bit early for Christmas eve, but I wanted to say that, on my house, there is a flower of poinsettia, and really the flower is very red and beautiful.

yes I understand you lee ying....I knew that night is noche, tarde is afternoon, and morning can be el día or mañana (which also means tomorrow).
Día de la madre - makes sense ![]() Quote:
![]() ![]() I'm confused! Look at the calendar..... Christmas eve is on Dec. 24th and Christmas on the 25th...unless I'm mistaken and you're right, Crotalito, I'm SURE that Christmas eve is Dec. 24th, not the 25th. Last edited by Rusty; December 08, 2008 at 06:31 AM. |
