a. ¿Qué hay aún lado del hotel?

c. ¿Qué hay a la izquierda de la es la estación de policía?
A ver...está la mezquita.

d. ¿Qué hay a la derecha de la biblioteca?
A ver...está la iglesia.

e. ¿Qué hay enfrente del restaurante?
A ver...está la plaza.

f. ¿Qué hay cerca del zoológico?

Good job, you wrote a word very colloquial, and the word attracted me attention, because the word is very used on my country, but the word are bad said, it isn't the way to say correctly the sentence, the word is Parada de autobus, and I did a few change and I wrote Estacion de autobus, I believe you should to change the word for Estacion instead of Parada.

Yes, for that reason, you only are using the words, you have learnt in your Spanish class, but as in the English there are words for each sentence or phrase in the Spanish also there are words for each sentence or phrase, and it commonly is user mostly the word Estacion than Parada, because Parada other country on mean other thing, and believe me, Parada is a rudeness on my country.

jchen, I think crotalito is simply telling you to be aware of cultural differences. There are plenty of words you will learn in Spanish classes that really cant be said around native speakers from certain countries.

For instance, I learned the word coger in my Spanish class and used it in class all the time, but I would never use the word around most of the native speakers here in California because a good majority of them happen to be from Mexico and they simply interpret the word in a different (vulgar) way.

Also, I doubt that your Spanish teacher would mind if you used a different word that she hasn´t yet taught you. She might actually be impressed by your willingness to learn outside of the classroom. If it comes up on a test, she might want you to use the original word, but on homework and in speech I doubt she would be offended if you used la estación instead of la parada.

I think Crotalitos point is that you should keep these cultural differences in mind. In the end, you are learning the language to communicate with other Spanish speakers, and it is best that you use a vocabulary that won´t offend certain individuals.

One thing you should know is that Crotalito didn't mean aún lado. He meant a un lado. This is something you've been taught (at least it appears in another homework post).
