Seda

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for June 5, 2009

seda (feminine noun (la)) — silk. Look up seda in the dictionary

Sábanas de seda son muy suaves.
Silk sheets are very smooth.

If you are complimenting a young lady you would say: tu piel es suavísimo como seda. (if you complimenting someone on their soft skin, chances are you can use the tu instead of the su unless you're a
manicurist treating an older client.

If you are complimenting someone who has an animal skin on the floor you
would say: tu piel es suavísima como seda.

In both cases would be suavísima

The subj is "la piel"

He intentado/intendé decir, "her skin is smooth like silk"
Confusé sobre "a ella" a la fin de la frase, ¿es correcto? Quieré que sabes que hablé sobre ella (una mujer) "Su tiene muchos significados jeje Tambien pienso que puedo ponerla al principio.

Su piel es suave como la seda (o tan suave como la seda). Es una frase comparativa.

En español no se distingue "su" masculino del femenino (her/his)

Su barba pica como las púas de un erizo.

In both cases, that definition is bad.

The word correct should be.

Su piel es suave como la seda.

Because if you can use the infinitive you can use this chose.

Su pie esta suevecita como la seda.

I think that theses choses are more correct and also sound better.

Puedes decir:

Soy suave como la seda.
Soy tan suave como la seda.

En español se suele elidir tan/tanto en los comparativos de igualdad.
