¿Pensáis sobre USA?

Hola,

I have to add that I agree with the word used by Effe, 'prejuicio'. 'Prejuicio' means prejudice, in the sense that you judge before you have enough knowledge of the things (think of: hacer un pre-juicio: un juicio previo). 'Perjuicio' means damage: alguien puede causarte perjuicio, a damage (it comes from 'perjudicar').

Perjuicio and prejuicio are often confused in Spanish speaking, above all when you're talking fast, by one hand because they're words which aren't often used, by the other because they just change the position of one letter.

Crotalito, I hate to tell you this, but there are many more mistakes in what you wrote than the one change made by effe. I have no idea what you were trying to say in a couple of places. The word 'mat' makes no sense at all, for instance. Maybe that is why effe highlighted it.

Here are some suggested changes:
I don't hate you Americans (the American people).
On the contrary, I like you. (It makes more sense to keep talking about the people instead of saying 'that country'.)
I'd like to go to your country soon, but sometimes your people do things to Mexicans, who are left to think poorly of you on this side of the border (around these parts).
Therefore, I don't believe that your country is mat in some times,.
I believe that each country makes mistakes and has bad people.
Well, you are a nice guy.
Cheer up. Your only job is to learn Spanish.

First of all I will tell you what we see when we see ourselves in your mirror.
The U.S. films and television series spend a lot of time remarking how different we are of you and spread throughout the world the next image of us:

Physically: Since it seems you've got the assumption that there are no more white people on Earth than the Anglo-Saxon people, the Spanish peoples are always short sized, dark-skinned, dirty and disheveled.
Intellectually: The Spanish people do not show trace of sophistication, they are always people with no education, devoted to agricultural or domestic service.
Morally: They are dishonest people, drug dealers, extremely sexist, cruel, and surrendered to their lowest passions.
Historically: The Spanish conquest of America should have taken place by chance, since, according to your media the Spanish characters look pretty stupid, uneducated an unmannered, (indeed, during the three centuries that it took, her armies always wore the same Renaissance armor).
Of course, after their independence from Spain, the Hispanic countries have always been governed by stupid and cruel dictators only because of their peoples own incapacity to create an maintain a democratic system.
What would you think of us if you were in our shoes?

Anyway, no need to worry, at least in Spain, you will find courtesy everywere you go.
