Buenos Dias

Hello everyone.

My name is Kelsey. I've wanted to learn Spanish for years now. I'm in a University course using Destinos as a guide.

I have a hard time remembering vocabulary and an extremely difficult time with tenses. Most of my assignments were passed hugely due to the help of online translators. I know what I want to say, and can figure out for the most part how it has to be said in Spanish, however when it comes to actually writing out a sentence or paragraph - my brain just doesn't seem to get it.

I did well on my final exam, except for the tenses - due to how badly I did, I failed. I am doing my redo next week. I have to pass the exam to pass the course.

Hopefully being part of a forum like this will help me to learn better and make some new friends.

Pero, (yo) ¡no las palabras/los verbos que escribir!

I started out with no se, but thought it was wrong.
What is the difference between no sé and no tengo?

Pretty good. There's an 'Accents' drop-down menu above the text input box. It contains all the special characters you'll need to type in Spanish.

Why no accent over the a in cuando? In my course all of those words have them - cuándo, cómo, cuál, cuánto ...

I have Spanish installed on my keyboard. That is another thing tengo con muchos difficulties - cuando to use the accents.

Gracias.

It is a written exam - should cover identification of correct words (para vs por), fill in the blanks, multiple choice, written essays (3 I think), grammatical structures, verbs (present, present & past progressive, preterite, imperfect, future & conditional) indicative mood (tenses), nouns & adjectives, prepositions, direct & indirect objects & pronouns, cultural topics and vocabulary from Destinos.

3.5 hours to do it all!

Bienvenida, chicadejeep

But welcome again

Sí, ¡Soy muy impaciente aprender!
Pienso necesito compre un diccionario.
Pienso su idea es buena. Digo a mi esposo "Eres tiquismiquis" - it means you are really fussy, correcto?

So when 'what, who, where, when, etc' are not being used as questions, they are not accented? I will watch for indirect questions.

Usted es correcto - tenía mirar todo en un diccionario! Gracias por eso!
