Both words or letter sound at most like.
But as you have said, you're getting a little confusion in the question. For example. Pero sound with simple R. Perro sound very different with the double RR, there are used twice times the same letter. Correr, this word sound with the triple RRR C-O-R-R-E-R, please you try to pronoun the word as it said there. Corre, in this example sound very different to the last word, because only it has couple of RR C-O-R-R-E. Really I'd like help you with more example, but I believe that you needed to listen to say the word of another people who is Speaker Spanish, therefore I don't believe that it can help you in much.
