Here expressions with "palo/s" are very common...
"Me dieron con un palo en el trabajo" "Te voy a matar a palos" "¡Qué palo se comió!" En resúmen: palo 12. m. coloq. Daño o perjuicio. Dar, llevar, recibir un palo As well you can find here that we use "palo" to reffer to a million pesos, and "palo verde" for a million dollars (although generally we use them indistinctly)
