To accuse someone of being a poet is completely absurd--as if it were(
el subjuntivo en inglés) a crime. To defend youself against such accusations takes it further. Then, Jane defends the accused victim. The victim
then, gets insulted at the accusation of not being a poet. This is a prime
example of irony taken to an extreme.
