slang = argot/jerga
Suavemente began his/her post with a slang phrase: ¿Qué onda? Based on our comments about the slang, s/he thought it better not to include Mexican slang in her future posts, but we assured him/her it would be alright to do so. (My comments, by the way, were only a correction in spelling, not a critique of the phrase itself.) :: Why do you say it.? (Don't use a period followed by a question mark.) Why did you say that? (¿Por qué dijiste eso?) (Solo debes hacer tal pregunta si estás seguro de que el oyente sepa a qué te refieres. Supongamos, por lo que escribiste después, que te referiste a lo de Mexican slang. Sería mejor si lo menciones en la pregunta, en vez de usar el pronombre that.) Me parece, por lo demás, que no entendiste bien la palabra slang, y otras cosas no las pillo. Es cierto que los mexicanos usan jergas, y no siempre salen iguales la jerga mexicana y la de españa. Idioms (modismos) and slang (jergas) make Spanish more fun (funner), as you said.
