Just being picky (sorry!), but you dropped one of the hyphens. They're definitely important in this context. And, you're right - there are many more. In fact, you can pretty much use "mid-" with many different words to imply the same thing.

Anonther example:
- I stopped what I was saying, mid-sentence.

Yes, definitely "mid-April". In fact, not only does mid-April mean the 15th ... it also can be used to talk about approximately the 15th.

Example:
- We always have a day off of work mid-October for Columbus Day. (It's not necessarily THE middle day of October, but always rather close....)

I would say:

• halfway along the road
• halfway down the road
• halfway to X

to mean a mitad de camino (entre dos lugares).

• halfway across the road
• in the middle of the road

would mean en medio del camino

But I have another question.

How I can say Estoy a un tercio del año.


I want to say this because, when I'm in any project with the company likely they use the term Tercio, cuartos, and well it's alt most null to say Mid or between when they are using the months or years, then here in my country likely is used the words Cuartos and quintos, then I'd like to know more about those questions.

Have anyone experience using the words before mentioned?
