I'm not sure, because I find the same meaning in both "no tragó" and "no se lo tragó". The difference that I see is that the first one is intransitive, while the second one is transitive. The RAE says:
8. intr. coloq. Acceder sin convicción a una propuesta. So, I think that when "tragar" (in this context) has not the pronominal form, this verb has this meaning. Anyway, "no pondría mi mano en el fuego por defender esta teoría" ![]() ![]() |
