Chileno, thanks for your advice. What I do right now is turn everything I use in to Spanish when I can. Youtube, Facebook, my video games, I change all of the options in to Spanish. I find this helps.

I will continue to study over and over until I get it!
Do not study, not at this time anyway, translate. my premise is that you already know how to read, write and express yourself in English, hence you don't have to "learn" all over again. Instead, translate the English you know to Spanish. You do that by following what I described in my previous post.

Along with watching a movie in Spanish. No subtitles, as you're going to be doing enough reading and writing as it is by translating the novel.

If I told you that from now on you have to read and write everything in Spanish, most like you'll tell me you are not capable of doing it right now. Right?

So basically, you set you mind to the you cannot do something as simple as reading and writing the following:

Mi mamá me ama. Mi mamá amasa la masa en la mesa.

Is that it? You cannot do it?

But that's what you understood, right? So the rest of the world.

@Esperar: If you wish to have a good command of Spanish, books will help you learn with a solid basis. Some formal lessons, at least for the basic and intermediate levels would also help. But in the end it's all a matter of commitment, and all efforts you make will bring proportional results.
