Be very careful. GERD's disease can develop into a pre-cancerous condition (Barrett's Disease). I don't honestly believe that Omeprazole will "cure" your condition but it may alleviate the symptoms.

With so much going on in the world I am surprised many more people don't suffer from that disease. Food, stress, work, family, government, etc. etc. etc. UGH!! Enough to drive anyone to madness.

I have never heard of the potato drink so maybe that is something to think about.

Good luck.....do meditation.....learn to dance salsa but don't eat salsa....

I feel much better, I hardly feel the burning anymore, I still take omeprazol, I think is a question of eating properly and drinking water by the bucketful to lower stomach acid. ANd yes, all the stress we go through in big cities like Madrid help a lot suffer from GERD.

Glad you're feeling better. I suffered from ulcers too.

@irma: I'm interested in the potato drink. Can you describe how the drink was made and if any other ingredients were added?

If you think Madrid gives you gerd, wait 'til you see New York in July.

Just for the record (and for the sake of regional differences):

The picture shows what we call in Mexico an "extractor de jugos". A "licuadora" is like this for us:

And a "batidora" is like this:

Salu2!

I keep taking Omeprazol in the morning before breakfast and I feel really well. The most important thing is to eat little and clean, not always easy.

"Common salt"... probably... but stuff like "real salt" such as Himalayan salt, or "real" sea salt (not chemically treated...) is probably the healthiest thing you could take... (it has something like 70 or 80 minerals, in addition to the "sodium chloride, NaCl")

Right. I've been taking that for about two months now.
