Of course Iris, I'm honest even with my mistakes.

Thanks a lot, Rusty for your corrections. I had never heard before of Si no ves burro no se te ofrece viaje, but it sounds really interesting.

Piensa mal y acertarás, we say in Spanish.
Do you say something like this in English?

If you think the worst, you won't be far wrong. This proverb shows such an amount of trust in human nature... it's encouraging!(read great sarcasm here)

Sarcastic? Never. Ironic sounds nicer than sarcastic and they're related--verbal irony that is.
Veo una diferencia entre culo veo culo quiero y monkey see monkey do.

Si hablas costeño no debes decir culo, sino cola.

Alfonso,
Como siempre gracias, Me has mostrado mucho y he aprendido.
Resultó que(Resulta que is probably not used much in Spain. Am I correct? I hear it here, but I am not completely sure how it is used. Nevertheless I'm using it here to see how it plays. ) Harper Collins confirmó que ojalá tiene un segundo significado (aunque, even if) en los paises caribeños. No espicificaron cual paises.

OK, Poli, I will look it up in some American Spanish dictionaries. I've got a great Colombian friend from Bogotá. There is a difference between spoken Spanish in Bogotá and Costeño, but I hope she will know the usage of ojalá that you write about. Anyway, it doesn't appear in DPD.

Resulta que (resultar) is very common in Spain. It's useful.

Sorry, Poli, I thought you knew it. We've already talked about Diccionario Panhispánico de Dudas, which focus on regional variations of Spanish.
Neither DRAE reflects a nuance of ojalá as aunque.
Thanks a lot for your corrections!

I've decided to use my real name. After all the alias wasn't very useful. Both Jane and Alfonso knew who I was from the word go. How do I edit my user name, David?

Like Alfonso said, who could have guessed?
Besides, as Iris you can afford to play those games with Alfonso..., but as María José... we´ll see.
