There is a law here, which says:
The question is if a photo in a newspaper is against a person under age's interests, honour, etc. ![]() ![]() |

Regardless of how extremely wise that law is, I am absolutely certain that such a law would be extremely difficult to pass here in the United States. Freedom of Speech advocates would go bonkers....

I guess "freedom of speech" means "libertad de expresión"
![]() ![]() Although there is a saying here: "hecha la ley, hecha la trampa" (law made, trap made). Well, I'm not sure about my translation. ![]() ![]() Edit: the unknown word of your post ![]() ![]() |

Not always. It sometimes surprises me which people advocate which things ... those who advocate gun rights don't necessarily hang out with those who are staunch advocates of freedom of speech, etc....

To avoid future conflicts, if you are scare or you have some problems with posting your pics -leaving aside your age- please avoid posting, even if you want to do it for a different matter than posting your picture...

Lo que puede ser ilegítimo puede ser la intromisión en la intimidad de los menores, no la publicación de las fotos.

There are international regulations on minors' data protection, and most of the countries who have adhered to them have similar laws to the one Irma has quoted. Mexico is one of them.
![]() And as for this thread, a photo and references to it have been removed on a user's request, so it's not a matter here of freedom of speech. @Irma: To go bonkers = volverse loco. ![]()

Bonkers means crazy, and Yonkers is just north of the Bronx
![]() Protection of privacy is good. Overprotection is opressive leads to needless hysteria and panic which really make kids neurotic--not to mention adults.

The only reason I requested that the photo be removed is that the user in the photo in question asked for the link to be removed, and she seemed uncomfortable with the reference to a photo of herself. I have noticed that she actively avoids specific references to where she lives and has recently avoided posting photos of herself. Unfortunately teens are at GREAT risk (I don't know if this is an international problem, or only here in the United States). They are VERY frequently the prey of malevolent adults. We (educators) actively teach teens (and even younger children) to be HYPER-careful about the information that they post about themselves online. There are predators out there who actively pursue children online. I can't do anything about what a newspaper will publish, but I can influence (or attempt to do so) what is posted here on Tomisimo....

Well I don't let my oldest son have a facebook page yet. I let him go online and look at webpages. His cousin wanted him to get one but you have to be 13 and I didn't feel comfortable about lying to get him an account. So in 2 years he can get one and I'll be sure and screen any incoming friend request as well as set up some privacy controls on there.
As far as photos... Like I said when I leave the house thousands of people can see what my kids look like. I'm not going to get all bent out of shape over it. I do watch my kids more than other parents. I love them more than I do my own life so if someone kidnapped them I would be devastated. In that sense I'm over protective. |

Yes Chris, I'm agree with you. When you share the information essential information about you and your family in some kind of Blog in internet, it could became dangerous for your security, because you don't know what kind to people are looking your information and they can take the information for bad things, then my children doesn't access to website where they can see or share information about they or me. One shape over all us is recognize the place where are you living currently. I have much care about the information that likely I'm sharing with the people, you know I have added you in my facebook but if you can look around it, you will see that only I have added to my family solely and I haven't other stranger people in my facebook. Also there're website where you can see the violence. For example I can found a amazing website at least it result amazing by me, because is a website about the Narcotrafico and they are images about dies of people involve in the drugs sell. There are videos about dies and decapitations something rudeness maybe for people who aren't habited to see so much violence in some place. I can tell you, my children never will have access to kind of websites because casually I'm informatics and I have set a sever in my network and I installed a proxy and I can forbidden many website, they will need a password for open freely the website from Internet. Then. Where are the security if your information is divulged when you get a telephone service. Simply you can call to the zero fifteen number from Telmex and you can ask about the number of a person, it's is insecure. I'll be waiting your commentary.
