But seriously: "estar loco" is the general construction for the adjective.
However, when you mean that people are always crazy, (I don't know why) we normally add an article: In this case, the sentence could have been "los novios son unos locos".

Hoy es aburrido, así que decidí contar una historia de mi pasado.

Hace unos años, mi esposa y yo fuimos a Londres. Soy de Inglaterra pero mi esposa es de Líbano. Ella no había estado en Londres antes. Vimos todos los monumentos famosos - Big Ben, Las Casas del Parlamento, El Ojo de Londres, Hyde Park, El Palacio de Buckingham etcétera. Mi familia vive en Inglaterra pero no en Londres. Condujimos hacia el norte a Sunderland donde mi familia vive. Cerca de Sunderland no hay muchas cosas que hacer y no hay muchas monumentos famosos.

Más cerca de nuestra casa, aquí en Los Emiratos Árabes Unidos hay muchos monumentos famosos! En Dubai se encuentra el edificio más alto del mundo "The Burj Khalifah" (Burj en árabe significa torre y Khalifah es el nombre del presidente de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos). Además, hay el Palacio Emiratos en Abu Dhabi, El Burj Al Arab en Dubai, The Palm Islands, Dubai Mall (El mayor centro comercial del mundo), el Desierto de Arabia y mucho más.

Nos alegramos de vivir aquí, pero en el verano hace mucho calor y nos quemamos.

I've changed the position of the verb (donde vive mi familia) because it is a common construction in such a sentence (donde...). I could understand that your family is alive if you put the verb at the end of the sentence. If you didn't use "donde" at the beginning of the sentence, you could say: "Mi familia vive en Sunderland".

I'm not sure if Khalifah is the name of the president or his title. We have the word 'Califa', too. So, maybe it should be: Khalifah es la palabra que designa al presidente / K. significa presidente.

@Irma: El presidente de los Emiratos Árabes se llama Khalifa bin Zayid Al-Nuhayyan.

@funkcanna: If you want to translate the name of "The Burj Khalifah" to Spanish, you could say "la Torre Khalifah".
Btw., as Irma said, a "califa" in Spanish is a prince of Muslim regions, title mostly used in the stories of The Arabian Nights.

I would love to explain to you why it's "esté" and no "está", but I can't remember that rule right now. lol. I just know It's like that. Perhaps someone that knows more about grammar could help

El jueves mi esposa y yo fuimos a la apertura de la Abu Dhabi Film Festival - fue un poco aburrido pero vimos Adrien Brody y Clive Owen - estaba bueno. Después de la ceremonia de apertura hubo una fiesta y había cerveza y vino libre Estuve muy enferma en la mañana del viernes (los fines de semana son los viernes y sábados aquí).

Sé que es todavía el fin de semana (domingo) en la mayor parte del mundo, pero ¿cómo fue su fin de semana?

Barra libre is the form more correct in Spanish to express that word.

I disagree. In my opinion "barra libre" means that you can drink whichever beverage in a party, from water to whisky or brandy. When you are in a small party with two or three drinks and you are invited to drink them without paying, I say "la bebida era gratis" (wine, beer or some drink without alcohol). I think that "barra libre" is used in pubs or discotheques, whereas in a private party you can say that "la bebida es gratis).
