Han bing is hello in mandarin and huan ying is welcome right?

I find Mandarin structure is very difficult for me to wrap my head around.

okay, it's kind of complicated to explain how to write a character. But I can say there are rules on how you write them.

for characters with bottom and top parts, you have to start at the top then gradually go down.
for characters with left and right parts: left >>> right

to write sun, , you can't just write a box first then put the line through it. you have to write it this way...
1. shu (vertical line)
2. heng zhe (horizontal line then a turning that's a vertical line...)
3. gou (hook)
4. heng (inside - heng means horizontal line)
5. heng (closes the "box")

so looks like this: 日

actually the real meaning of sun is 太阳, tài yàng
ri would be used for sun also and these:
Japan (for ri ben) / day / sun / date / day of the month

if you have questions feel free to ask.

If I would compare Chinese to Spanish, I'll say Spanish is easier to learn (for others; to me it's Chinese, of course). That's my opinion.
What do you think?
