This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for October 25, 2008
cabeza - feminine noun (la) - head. Look up cabeza in the dictionary Cuando me duele la cabeza, casi no puedo hacer nada. When I have a headache, I can't do hardly anything.

what would be the word for head as in for example..
the head of the team the head of the family. like a leader. dirigente? |

There may be more equivalent expressions, but these are the ones I can think of:
- Cabeza/líder/jefe del equipo = head of team - Cabeza de familia = head of family I would use "dirigente" rather for higher rank posts... "dirigente de un país" ≈ "cabeza de Estado" = "head of State"
