Is this a correct translation...thanks -

A few weeks ago I went on vacation with my parents and we flew to Barcelona and stayed for the weekend. The weather was great, something that I prefer since I hate winter. We visited friends who live there and they cooked for us every evening. I found it was wonderful being able to taste proper Spanish food.

Visitamos a unos amigos que viven allí y (independent clause follows, so it would be good to include the subject) ('cocinar' can take an indirect object in addition to a direct object - missing indirect object pronoun goes here) cocinaron la (an indefinite article may sound better) cena para nosotros (see earlier note about a missing indirect object pronoun - omit the prepositional phrase). Me pareció una maravilla poder degustar una buena comida española.
I moved your request for a translation to the 'Practice & Homework' forum. We don't provide free translations here, but will help you practice what you're learning by giving you hints about any problems we locate.

Hints provided above.
(I'm hoping you'll receive hints from the members in the other site where this same request is posted. You won't learn anything if someone just provides the translation for you. )
