Thanks a lot for your replies, guys, it makes me feel welcome. As a matter of fact, I have read quite a few threads already, and although I haven't replied to them, I've learned quite a lots.
Gracias por sus respuestas, amigos, me hace sentir bienvenido aquí. [As a matter of fact], I'm not sure of a translation of this phrase..., leí muchos [threads], the translator tells me that it is hilo but I this would refer to a thread of string or something..., y aunque no les respondí, aprendí muchos |

"As a matter of fact" could be translated as "de hecho".
"Hilo" or "tema" are fine in forums. Usually you find "tema" in Spanish forums, but peole can also say "hilo". It might be a literal translation from the English "thread". But we also use "hilo" in a similar way. Perdí el hilo de la conversación - I lost the thread of the conversation.
