Football

I was in the garden a while ago and suddenly most of my neighbours disappeared. And so did my daughter. The reason? A football match on the telly. So please tell me, what's so attractive about a bunch of guys running after a ball? Unless one of them is Beckham, of course.

I didn't see the match but I'm proud to announce that:

Spain beat Germany in Euro final

Spain claimed their first major title in 44 years with a 1-0 win over Germany in Sunday's European Championship final in Vienna. Fernando Torres scored the only goal of the game, sliding the ball past German keeper Jens Lehmann after 33 minutes. full story

Now let's hope the world will go back to normal, because the street is still deserted, and so is the forum...

You beat me to it, Gemma. I watched the match (though I promised not to) and I wanted to be the one to announce the well deserved victory.
We just popped a bottle of my husband´s favourite champagne...

I didn't watched the match (I'm a stiff intellectual) but I knew when the only goal was achieved (my neighbours made such a noise... and didn't stopped yet).
I hope this sarampión passed by as soon as possible. Once in twenty four years is not too much. I'll get over it.

A. mumps
B. measles
C. chicken-pox

Once in forty-four years... If you stick around for another forty-four years, you might actually come to love football, but you´ll need to loosen up a bit.

By the way, I would call it a soccer game, not a football match.

My liitle girl was told the same thing, she called me this morning asking if she´s a spaniard now, and that since she didn´t play, she told her friend that the congratulations should be for the footballers who actually played...
I´ll say thank you very much, David, on behalf of Spain, since the spaniards HERE are somewhat ..., unimpressed by the feat.

You can say that again!(I love men who don't like football, and if you look like George Clooney, well, then you are perfect...)

It´s cute meeting guys who are not crazy about football, and cute also seeing gals who do love the game. I´m one of them, though I don´t usually watch the games live( not if I can help it).

Saludos
