Sorspecho que pedir la baja significa request to resign.
De eso no estoy seguro, pero estoy casi seguro que hay alguien en los foros que puede confirmar(o descomfirmar) lo que sorpecho.

Lo que sospechas es correcto.
pedir la baja = to hand/turn in one's resignation

También puede significar to ask for leave, tal como sick leave, maternity leave, etc.
pedir la baja maternal = to ask for maternity leave

It's a play on words that I have heard --not necesarily gringo/gringuenza but this gist of it is el colmo de or -isísimo. It may be an exclusively Caribbean usage. Spanish gives us some flexibitlities that we lack in English, and I'm grateful for that.

Vaya hasta que veo que escribes en español Rusty, bueno Poli creo que tu tienes un error en tu post, mira tu puedes mezclar muchas palabras pero siempre con la finalidad de hacer un entendimiento claro de lo que quieras decir

La palabra Que ahi queda sobrando ya que con la palabra suena mal.


I never heard the phrase Gringueza, but I have heard the word Gringada.
