I've heard hacer el papel.
I recently saw desempeñar rol

Can you say, Tengo que hacer papel de mediador entre los dos en desacuerdo.
or
Tengo que desempeñar el rol de mediador entre....

Can you say, Gael Garcia Bernal desempeña el rol de jugador de fútbol en...
In know you can say Gael Garcia Bernal hace papel de....

Ok Pienso que hubo una confucion en tu cabeza, porque escribiste bien lo que escuchaste pero en los ejemplos te equivocaste.

Sí. "Desepeñar" y "hacer el papel de" sería lo mismo.

"Rol" is not often used in Mexico. "Papel" is better for us.

The difference between "hacer" and "desempeñar" is that some people believe "desempeñar" shows more education and "hacer" is more popular.

entonces se puede hacer el papel
¿se dice desempeñar rol (pero menos en Mexico) pero no tiene que poner el enfrente de la palabra rol? ¿Estoy en lo cierto?

Sé que español es un idioma muy ordenado y las reglas hacen sentido, y por eso me choca cuando veo inconsistencias.

El artículo también es necesario antes de rol.
"Hace/desempeña el rol/papel".

Es difícil explicar cuándo los artículos son indispensables, pero es en la mayoría de los casos, y evidentemente se usan mucho más que en inglés.

Gracias ,tiene sentido. No sé si soy correcto, pero si oigo correctamente,hay muy muchos hispanos del caribe que dejan de usar los artículos cuando hablan.

Éste debe ser el verbo "confucionar" de Chileno, yo no lo conozco. Lo confuciono un poco con el verbo confundir, y eso me confunde.

@Poli: excelente conjugación.


@irmamar: suena más bien como a verbo regular de la primera conjugación, así que debe de ser "confucar"... apuesto a que hay variante pronominal "confucarse"

The sentence hacer el papel is most used between the actors and the soap operas.

For example one actor says, I will do the actuation or the paper.

Perhaps my translation is not the better.

Usually "desempeña el rol" it's not used for movies, but for meetings, and it's rather technical.
"Cuando interrogueis al prisionero, uno desempeña el rol del poli bueno y otro el del poli malo"
short version
"Cuando interrogueis al prisionero, uno hece de poli bueno y otro de poli malo"
