Las desgracias nunca vienen solas

Las desgracias nunca vienen solas

HOla no sé si se habrá discutido ya este dicho, yo lo sabía en inglés pero se me olvidó , alguien puede confirmarme si se dice algo así como:
Bad things always happen in three ? Hay alguna forma más.
Y desgracia por sí sola como se traduciría. por ejemplo en qué desgracia.

Yo lo traduciría como misfortune.
