Look, if you're asking ""¿de dónde es?, you're asking "Where is he/are you (usted) from?". It would be better if you asked in that way:

¿De dónde sois? (vosotros, used in Spain)
¿De dónde son (ustedes)? (used in Latin America and Spain in a formal way)

A mí me gusta mucho Antonio Machado. La que te sugiero es sencilla, pero la encuentro extremadamente plástica:

gracias. es interesante en realidad. pero necesito poco largo para recitar en la clase. de tiempo anterior presente una poema por pablo nerudo. esta mui bonit. esta nobre esta 'quien sabe'. buscare mas poemas por Antonio Machado.
