Hasta tomar
Se habla del San Francisco de Asís,le llama mínimo y" dulce,hasta tomar la forma del ser más humilde de la tierra" Estoy confudida con el uso de "hasta tomar" que quiere decir ?

My try:
"... and sweet, until the point he takes/adopts the form of the most humble [human] being on earth" hasta tomar la forma de -> literally -> until he takes the form of or maybe better to use till instead of until El dolor incrementó hasta tornarse insoportable - The pain increased till it turned unbearable El discurso comenzó tranquilamente hasta que tomó/adoptó / hasta tomar/adoptar la forma de una reprimenda. The speech started calmly till it became a reprimand / till it took the form of a reprimand.
